Health before illness.

Welcome

We lived longer, and better, than ever before. Generation after generation.

Then that stopped happening.

For 150 years, wherever we lived, the likelihood was that we would live longer than our parents, and much longer than our grandparents and their parents. We would have less illness and recover more quickly. Our bodies would probably throw off viruses, sometimes without us even knowing we had contracted them that, less than a 100 years ago, would have killed us.

Statistically, if we look at ourselves and then back through our ancestors, we are the luckiest, by far.

But not anymore.

The world has changed, and our approach to health must change with it.

Whether…

you live in a developed country where the provision of primary healthcare is seen as a source of profit

or

you live in a developed country where the provision of free, or near to free, primary healthcare is seen as a basic duty of government

or

you live in a developing country where a clear direction of policy about the wellness of the people seems still to be elusive …being healthy and staying healthy is becoming more difficult.

Part of the solution to returning to improving the longevity and quality of our lives is, obviously, preventive medicine – particularly where it incorporates the contemporary wisdom that the mind and the body are part of a greater whole, interacting, interdependent and always intertwined.

We need to think of our health, our physical health, our emotional health and our cognitive health, like a garden, or a car. Something that needs regular attention before something goes wrong and gets out of control.

We need to stop thinking of medicine as something we either just do or only take when things seem wrong.

Why You’re Here

You might be:

● A parent trying to give your child the best start
● A teacher who’s stretched too thin
● An employee burned out by constant pressure
● A carer, a student, a friend — someone who just knows there must be a better way to
protect mental health

You’re in the right place.

What We Do

Preventive medicine – which includes things we do, not just things we take – needs
internationally recognised ethics, standards and quality controls.
That is what we are doing, with you.

You’re in the right place.
